DELIVERY
Delivery is the aspect of school counseling that most people think of when discussing what a school counselor is. This includes individual counseling, group counseling, psycho-educational presentations, and any other direct services the school counselor provides. Below are some examples of my artifacts that I have created or used.

Throughout internship and graduate school, I learned a lot about myself as a school counselor. During this time, I wrote a paper explaining my theoretical orientation. My theoretical orientation helps me identify how I deliver my services. This paper is attached below.

One of the issues at my internship site was that elementary females in grades 3-5 were frequently fighting about friendship issues. Therefore, we created a small group program for each individual grade to have students collaborate together about the meaning of friendship and what being a good friend meant. Attached is the letter we sent home to parents to make sure students were allowed to participate.

One of the important parts of being a professional school counselor is developing plans to monitor the students' success in multiple domains of school. Attached is an entire program revolving around improving students' communication skills.

As explained above, it is important that elementary students learn proper communication skills. Therefore, I created a prevention program working with students who may need an extra boost in this area. The PowerPoint shows research and background information to show the administration before presenting the program. An example lesson plan and example pre/post survey is also attached.

One of the most important aspects of being a high school counselor is developing four year plans with the students. In Indiana, it is a requirement for students to have a four year plan to receive their 21st Century Scholarship. However, our school believe it is essential for all students to have a four year plan to help them understand the courses that are required for graduation and the electives that can help them achieve their future goals. I am including a PowerPoint I created to help students create their four year plan and also the blank document we use for students to write their plan.

Choose Respect teaches students positive ways to speak to others and resolve problems. It strongly emphasizes using respect when dealing with any type of conflict, specifically in relationships.
SkillStreaming is a program developed by Dr. Arnold P. Goldstein and Dr. Ellen McGinnis to teach children and adolescents prosocial skills by using a four-part training approach.
Programs that emphasize career development are essential for students, no matter what age they are. This could include college readiness or career planning in general.
During internship, we also did a program on bullying to teach the students what is bullying and how they can help stop bullying. Attached are the PowerPoints used at the middle school and high school levels. This can be used as another form of peer mediation since it teaches students to work together to stop bullying at their schools by standing up for their peers and themselves.
